Duraboot Achsmanschette Fitting Guide

Boots may be fitted using the Duragun or a fitting cone. For application with fitting cone see instructions below.

Jack up the vehicle

1. Jack up the vehicle, remove the road wheel and hub. Remove the old boot and clips.

Clean away any grease or debris

2. Clean away any grease or debris from the shaft and joint.

Spray outer with cone spray

3. Check fitting cone for sharp or rough areas. Smooth with emery cloth if necessary. Spray outer with cone spray.

Turn the boot inside out

4. If fitting the new boot to an outer CV joint, turn the boot inside out. (this will almost always be the case)

Spray the inside of the boot with cone spray

5. Spray the inside of the boot with cone spray.

Place the large end of the boot over the narrow end of the cone

6. Place the large end of the boot over the narrow end of the cone.

Place the large end of the cone over the joint

7. Place the large end of the cone over the joint.

Push the boot until it is clear of the cone

8. Push the boot until it is clear of the cone.

Remove the cone and turn the boot right side out

9. Remove the cone and turn the boot right side out - if necessary.

Snip the corner of the grease sachet and fill the joint

10. Snip the corner of the grease sachet and fill the joint.

Slide and stretch the boot

11. Slide and stretch the boot into position over the joint.

Secure the boot with fixing clips

12. Secure the boot with fixing clips, removing any excess with tin snips. Replace the hub and road wheel.
