Duraboot SR Fitting Guide

1. Jack up the vehicle, remove the road wheel. Remove split pin if applicable. Undo nut and free ball joint.

The boot should be cut away from the shaft, not pulled over the track rod end

2. The boot should be cut away from the shaft, not pulled over the track rod end.

Pull the swivel pin towards you

3. Pull the swivel pin towards you and place cone cover over the pin.

Lubricate the fitting cone

4. Lubricate the fitting cone and the inside of the new boot with cone spray.

Pull larger opening of boot over the cone first

5. Pull larger opening of boot over the cone first and then ease the small opening over the cone and into position.

Remove the cone

6. Remove the cone and top up the steering rack with correct lubricant (EP90 or similar) via the small opening.

Secure one end of the boot with the fixing clip

7. Secure one end of the boot with the fixing clip.

Secure the other end with the remaining fixing clip

8. Secure the other end with the remaining fixing clip.

Refit the track rod end onto the control arm

9. Refit the track rod end onto the control arm and tighten nut to the correct torque. Renew split pin. Replace the road wheel.
